"The Gifts of Beauty and Song" (also known as "One Gift") is a song from the Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. It was written by composer George Bruns and lyricist Tom Adair. It is sung by an offscreen chorus while Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather bless Aurora with their magical gifts. A female chorus sings as Flora gives the gift of beauty, a male chorus sings as Fauna gives the gift of song, and both choirs sing together as Merryweather alters Maleficent's curse so Aurora will not die when she pricks her finger on a spindle, but sleep until she is awakened by true love's kiss.
Lyrics[]
Female chorus: One gift, beauty rare
Gold of sunshine in her hair
Lips that shame the red, red rose
She'll walk with springtime wherever she goes
Male chorus: One gift, the gift of song
Melody her whole life long
The nightingale's her troubadour,
Bringing his sweet serenade to her door
For true love conquers all
