"Hide the Hideout!" is the pilot and first segment of the first episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on February 14, 2011 alongside "The Old Shell Game".
Plot[]
The episode starts off when Jake, Izzy, and Cubby are finished building a sandcastle. Jake starts complimenting everybody on the things they put on the sandcastle. Then Skully comes down from the lookout and tells them that the Jolly Roger is coming. Jake looks through the telescope and sees the Jolly Roger. Captain Hook tells Mr. Smee to mark his words and that he that he is certain the Jake and his crew have a Hideout on Pirate Island. Hook then says that he needs a hideout and Smee writes it down. Hook says that he will find the hideout and make it his hideout, which Smee writes down and Hook smiles. The Jolly Roger starts to get closer to Pirate Island.
Cubby gets scared and hides behind the sandcastle. Jake tells the others they need to hide their hideout. He asks the audience for help, explaining that they need to keep a lookout for gold doubloons (introducing the concept to the audience for the first time). Everyone describes what they have with them, and Izzy explains the purpose of her pixie dust. They run toward a tiki statue, and Jake tells the audience that to open the hideout door, they have to push the tiki's tongue down. The trees move aside, and the doors open. Jake and his crew run up the stairs and into the hideout, singing "Yo Ho Mateys, Away." They begin hiding the hideout. As they gather everything up, Jake asks if everything is ship-shape, and Izzy, Cubby, and Skully respond, "Aye-aye." For closing up the hideout, they earn four gold doubloons. They grab the doubloons and then check on Hook. He's walking on Pirate Island and accidentally knocks down the sandcastle. Smee then walks around the knocked-down sandcastle.
They started searching for the hideout. Hook dug around near the tiki statue, considering possible locations, and rested his elbow on it twice. Jake and his crew are inside the hideout, observing Hook and Smee below. Hook suggests they climb the mountain for a better view of the island. Izzy noted that all the hatch doors were closed, but Skully interjected, "Crackers! No, we didn't," revealing that the hatch on Water Cannon Hill remained open. Jake realized they need to distract Hook and Smee to close the hatch, as the pirates are already climbing the hill. Smee's legs grew tired, but Hook insists they continue without rest until they find the hideout. Cubby, Izzy, and Jake emerged. Cubby needs help to get ahead of Hook and Smee so he can close the door, and Izzy suggested they make noises like monkeys to distract them. They did so, and while Hook asked Smee if he's screeching, Smee recognized the sound as coming from a barrel of monkeys. Meanwhile, Cubby climbed up to the hatch first, slipped inside, and closed it, earning them two more gold doubloons. The top of the hill opens, startling Cubby. Jake, Izzy, and Skully made monkey sounds at him, and Cubby, interpreting it as a message that it was time for Hook and Smee to get wet, took control of the water cannon. He aimed it at Hook and Smee, and a blast of water washed them into the ocean. Later, Hook and Smee climb up to a hollow tree, which Hook believes is the hideout. Smee goes to investigate but falls on Hook, sending him tumbling down into the tree. He slide down a winding path, landing on a barrel. Hook is then flung off the barrel, flying over Bucky and out the waterfall, finally landing in the ocean.
Smee throws a life preserver to Hook, and Izzy, with a laugh, remarks that Hook didn't even realize he was inside the hideout. Hook and Smee climbed up the side of the hideout and discovered a closed hatch door. Hook used his plunger hook to attempt to open it. Inside, Izzy, peering through the hole, exclaimed, "Yay-hey, no way! Captain Hook has found a way inside our hideout! We gotta stop him!" Jake and the crew started brainstorming a solution. Cubby suggests he needs to fly. Izzy sprinkles pixie dust on Cubby, enabling him to fly and buzz around like a fly, distracting Hook, who mistook him for a real insect. The distraction allowed Jake and his crew to further hide the hideout and they earned two doubloons more gold doubloons for Cubby's fly impersonation. Hook, still trying to swat Cubby, pulled out a fly-swatting hook and announced, "I think I'll add you to my bug collection." He swung the swatter, but instead, he struck a board attached to a string, sending him zipping away. He and the board crashed down the hideout's stairs and tumbled into the ocean—again. Smee throws him another life preserver and drags him to shore. Smee suggests they try again another day, but Hook, disagreeing, sneezes onto the shore. Smee observes that Hook seems to have caught a cold and suggests they return to the Jolly Roger, where he'll make chicken noodle soup for him. Hook sneezes again. The Jolly Roger sails off. They then arrive at a pile of sand with a shovel sticking out of it. Skully pulls the shovel and the crew sing the song that makes the Team Treasure Chest come out of the ground. They count all their Gold Doubloons, then put them in.
