The Clinton-Massie girls swim team finished third Saturday at the Dayton Christian Invitational at the Dayton Raider Swim Club on the strength of victories by Malea Beam in the 200-yard individual medley and 500 freestyle, Erin Belisle in the 50 and 100 free, and Beam and Belisle with Elise Dennis and Ellie Smith in the 400 free relay.
That quartet also finished runner-up in the 200 medley relay. Dennis also notched runner-up finishes in the 200 free and 100 backstroke.
Massie’s boys got victories from Jack Clark in the 200 and 500 free, the latter coming by 64 seconds.
The Wilmington swim teams also participated in the meet, with third-place being the best finish on both sides (Cooper Short in the 50 and 100 free; Aidan Benitez, Sam Burt, Jake Vance and Short in the 200 free relay, and Alexa Benitez in the 100 free)
