Meet at the Nature Center in Cowan Lake State Park on Friday, Dec. 27 at 4 p.m. for a different nature story and theme every week.
Barks and Branches
Cowan Lake State Park will host a two-mile hike to learn about tree identification on Friday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 5 p.m. starting at the Nature Center. It’s recommended that guests bring boots, warm clothes and water.
Eagle Excursion
Meet at the Commissary in Cowan Lake State Park on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. for a one-mile hike to learn about the eagles at the park.
Creature Feature
Meet at the Nature Center in Cowan Lake State Park on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. to learn about the ambassadors of the animal world.
It’s for the Birds
Cowan Lake State Park will host an event on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Nature Center. Come and learn about identifying and feeding backyard birds, and then make your own seed mix to take home.
The 5th Week
It’s the 5th week of the month, and the Wilmington Public Library plans to get “kind of wonky” with an event on Monday, Dec. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. that will see attendees ranking Disney movie villains, breakfast cereal, D&D classes, and so much more. Taking place at the Wilmington Main Library in Kirk A & B, located at 268 N South St. in Wilmington.
Eat Wings, Raise Funds at BWW
PAWS Humane Society, Inc. is hosting a fundraiser on Monday, Dec. 30 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings at 143 Fairway Drive in Wilmington. Guests intending to participate are asked to show a ticket from PAWS’ Facebook page, and 15% of their bill (excluding tax, tip, alcohol, or promotional discounts) will be donated to PAWS Humane Society, Inc. The event includes dine-in or carry-out.
New Year’s Eve at The Broadway Bar & Grill
Broadway Bar and Grill will host Cincinnati-based rock band Reeking Havoc for a New Year’s Eve celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m., located at 126 South Broadway St. in Blanchester.
1st Day Hike
Cowan Lake State Park will host a New Year’s Day one-mile hike on the Lakeview trail on Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. Meet at the Commissary Parking Lot.
Furs and Spurs
Cowan Lake State Park will host a two-mile hike to look for clues of local wildlife and to see what animals live in the park on Friday, Jan. 3 from 4 to 5 p.m. Meet at the Nature Center.
Friday Night Film: “Abominable”
The Murphy Theatre will host a showing of 2019 animated-film “Abominable” on Friday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m., located in downtown Wilmington at 50 W. Main St. General admission tickets available at the door for $7, or $12 for a family. Sponsored by the Wilmington PTO.

Cowan Lake State Park will host an event on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Nature Center to learn about the different animal ambassadors.
Life Line Screening – Wilmington
Life Line Community Circle will host an event on Monday, Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. at the Wilmington Ohio Church of Christ located at 909 W. Locust St. Life Line Screening has provided annual preventive health screenings for stroke and cardiovascular disease risk as well as other chronic illnesses since 1993. Life Line will be offering screenings for heart rhythm (AFib), abdominal aortic aneurysms, and various other cardiac and chronic illnesses. Wilmington Kroger Blood Drive

Health Insurance Open Enrollment Pop-up
The Wilmington Library will host an insurance open-enrollment pop-up at their Main Branch location at 268 N. South St. in Wilmington on Wednesday, Jan 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Get Covered Ohio with HealthSource of Ohio to help with Medicaid and Marketplace Insurance.

OMEA Solo and Ensemble 2025
The Middletown Music Arts Club will host an event sponsored by the Ohio Music Education Association on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 8 a.m. at 953 Cherry St. in Blanchester.
Aging Up Chili Cook-Off Competition
Think your chili is award-worthy? Well, check out this event taking place on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m. at Aging Up Community Center, located at 717 North Nelson Ave. in Wilmington. This inaugural chili competition will feature guest judge Mayor Pat Haley. Those looking to share their chili should register by Friday, Jan. 3 by calling 937-728-2868 or emailing [email protected]. Each meal will cost $10 and feature chili, a sandwich, dessert, and a drink.
