A Touch More, the production company founded by Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe, is partnering with Vox Media to relaunch and significantly expand their sports and pop culture show, A Touch More Live. Originally piloted as an Instagram Live series during the pandemic, the podcast will dive into the latest sports news, insider stories, and the intersection of sports and pop culture. Whether breaking down the biggest games or sharing their hot takes, Bird and Rapinoe will bring unique perspectives only they can provide. Fans can tune in for lively discussions, special guests, and a touch more insight into the world of sports and beyond. In partnership with Vox Media, the A Touch More Live podcast will publish audio and video episodes weekly across platforms including Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and more. The video podcast will also be co-distributed by TOGETHXR, the media and commerce company also co-founded by Bird, and world class athletes Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, and Simone Manuel.
“We are thrilled to have A Touch More partner with Vox Media to expand A Touch More Live into a dynamic podcast that explores the intersection of sports and pop culture,” said Bird and Rapinoe. “Producing the show during the pandemic sparked our larger interest in production which eventually led to us launching our company, A Touch More, so this show holds a special place in our hearts. We are excited for A Touch More Live to be a place for exciting, honest conversations with compelling guests.”
Bird and Rapinoe first revealed the partnership at Stagwell’s Sport Beach at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity during a live taping of the show. A Touch More Live will be produced by Vox Media in partnership with A Touch More and TOGETHXR. Vox Media will also lead sales, marketing, and distribution for A Touch More Live, and will partner with Bird and Rapinoe to explore additional franchise expansion opportunities such as live event activations. The show will officially launch later this summer and will be executive produced by Bird, Rapinoe, and Camille Bernier-Green, A Touch More’s Head of Development.
“Megan and Sue are singular voices who are using their platforms as world champion athletes to tell stories and shed light on important issues impacting our society today,” says Vox Media’s SVP and general manager for audio and video, Ray Chao. “We are honored to partner with Megan and Sue on A Touch More Live and bring their expanded show to audiences everywhere.”
After a championed career spanning three decades regarded as the world’s premier point guard, Bird has left her mark on the WNBA and the world of women’s sports. Bird is one of only seven women to win an Olympic Gold Medal, a World Championship Gold Medal, an NCAA Championship, and a WNBA Championship. A two-time World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, Rapinoe helped lead the USWNT to the 2019 Women’s World Cup Championship, scoring some of the biggest goals of the tournament and taking home the tournament’s two top honors – the Golden Boot for top scorer, and the Golden Ball for the best player in the tournament.
