Diddy became Batman for Halloween after Warner Bros. sent papers prohibiting him from being the Joker again.
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, Combs detailed Warner Bros’ move. “Last year, I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker…They said it broke their trademark, that I did it too good. I swear I have this letter. I swear to God. From Warner Bros.”
Kimmel insisted that Love disregard the legal papers and dress up as Joker again. Diddy then offered a message for WB. “So tomorrow… Warner Bros. lawyers, can you see me? Put this camera on right here. The head of legal: Tomorrow, watch what I do.”
On Halloween, Diddy uploaded a video sifting through legal documents from the studio. He seemed to backtrack on his energy aimed at Warner Bros and conceded. “You win, I’m not going to be the Joker this year.” But the end of the video had a simple message: “Stay tuned.”
On Wednesday (Nov. 1), the Bad Boy founder returned dressed up as the Bats. The IG clip was a fully produced mini-movie featuring Combs taking on movie studio execs. With the encouragement of Lil Arsenio, Diddy stepped to film execs and demanded that they end the strikes.
“I’m tired of mediocrity, of the shortcuts, of the greed of empty suits telling us that we don’t deserve more,” he said in his best Batman impression. Viewers then meet an exec carrying a file that reads “confidential as f**k.” “The Darkest Knight” then forces the unnamed exec to “say the strike is over.”
Diddy can also be seen in the clip whipping the Batmobile through the streets of New York City—err, Gotham.
