اُداسی پر مری ہنستا بہت تھا

اُداسی پر مری ہنستا بہت تھا

خوشی کا غم سے یہ رشتہ بہت تھا

سرِ ساحل ہزاروں سپیاں تھیں

سمندر رات بھر تڑپا بہت تھا

ذرا سی دیر__ تھوڑی سی محبت

مرا نادان دل سمجھا… بہت تھا

کہاں دن کی کہانی ختم ہوگی

کنارِ شام یہ سوچا بہت تھا

سرابِ وقت کی ان سرحدوں پہ

کسی کے خواب کا سایہ بہت تھا

تھیں میرے روبرو آنکھیں تمہاری

تخیل کو یہ سرمایا بہت تھا
