مرے قریب نہ آؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

مرے قریب نہ آؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

ہٹو پرے اجی جاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

یہ میرا منا جو جاگا تو چیز مانگے گا

ابھی نہ اس کو جگاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

ہے پچھلی رات نمود سحر تو ہونے دو

ابھی تو گھر سے نہ جاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

ہے کالی رات بھی اور راستہ بھی نا ہموار

قدم سنبھل کے اٹھاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

یہ الٹی سیدھی اڑانے سے فائدہ کیا ہے

سخن کی شمع جلاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

وہ آئے میرے تصور میں بولے یوں سجنیؔ

مجھے نہ پاس بلاؤ بہت اندھیرا ہے

abhi na us ko jagao bahut andhera hai

hai pichhli raat numud-e-sahar to hone do
abhi to ghar se na jao bahut andhera hai

hai kali raat bhi aur rasta bhi na-hamwar
qadam sambhal ke uThao bahut andhera hai

ye ulTi sidhi uDane se faeda kya hai
suKHan ki shama jalao bahut andhera hai

wo aae mere tasawwur mein bole yun 'sajni'
mujhe na pas bulao bahut andhera hai
