مل کے بیٹھیں تو ہم کہیں پہلے

مل کے بیٹھیں تو ہم کہیں پہلے

بانٹ لیتے ہیں کیوں زمیں پہلے

ہوگا تیرا بھی اعتبار مجھے

کر لوں اپنا میں گر یقیں پہلے

کیوں کسی در پہ آسماں جھکتا

گر نہ جھکتی مری جبیں پہلے

دل میں شاید ابھی بھی ہے موجود

آؤ ڈھونڈیں اسے یہیں پہلے

کب یہ سنتے ہیں داستاں پوری

بول اٹھتے ہیں نکتہ چیں پہلے

سوچتا ہوں میں سن کے بات تری

کیوں یہ میں نے کہی نہیں پہلے

banT lete hain kyun zamin pahle

hoga tera bhi e'tibar mujhe
kar lun apna main gir yaqin pahle

kyun kisi dar pe aasman jhukta
gar na jhukti meri jabin pahle

dil mein shayad abhi bhi hai maujud
aao DhunDen use yahin pahle

kab ye sunte hain dastan puri
bol uThte hain nukta-chin pahle

sochta hun main sun ke baat teri
kyun ye main ne kahi nahin pahle
