Jon Green will chair the five-person Johnson County Board of Supervisors in 2025.
Green, 41, of Lone Tree, was elected to the board in 2021 and will serve through 2026. Green was the only person nominated for the chairperson role for the upcoming year and was selected unanimously by the board, which held its annual organizational meeting on Thursday.
“I'm grateful to my colleagues for their confidence in serving as our chairperson in 2025, which I expect to be a dynamic and challenging year at times. Fortunately, we have a good team to meet challenges and take opportunities," Green said in a statement.
Supervisor V Fixmer-Oraiz, of Iowa City, was elected to serve as vice chair of the five-member board for 2025. Fixmer-Oraiz, 46, was elected in 2022, with a seat that expires at the end of 2026.
