Byline: JOHN BRIDGWATERMONTGOMERY'S Rob Yewdall bagged a career-best 9-38 to guide his side to an emphatic 100run win over Pontesbury in Division One of the Banks's Shropshire League.
The swing bowler was in unstoppable form as he sent the home batsman back for 96, 100 runs short of Monty's 196-8 in which Simon Hart top-scored with 45, Rob Kinsey made 45, Lee Davies 21 and Andrew Wyatt 22.
Llanidloes scored a six-wicket win over Worfield, who were restricted to 153-8 having been 98-0. Opener Ian Seedhouse topscored with 68 and Russ Swallow took 3-63. Llani cruised to victory with more than 14 overs left thanks to a quickfire 86 from Nicky Jones.
Relegation-haunted Welshpool held out for a draw at promotionchasing Knockin and Kinnerley in Division Two.
Put in to bat, Knockin rattled up a daunting 226-7 with Paul Higginson top-scoring on 57 while Steve Monk (3-74 off 19 overs) was the most successful bowler.
Pool never looked likely to threaten the target despite Joe Birch's 26, Dan Haycock's 22 and Chris Owen's 34, which helped their side hold out on 136-8.
Cae Glas have landed the Division Three title despite only drawing with Shelton. With chief rivals Harcourt losing, Glas picked up the necessary points to ensure a return to the second division.
Batting first, they rattled up 199-3 with opener Andy Griffiths batting throughout for a league best 83 not out. In reply, Shelton were restricted to 134-7 due largely to Steve Oakley's fine spell of 5-12 in 10 overs.
