The clubs who want Fowler's signature.
LIVERPOOL First and foremost, it's Liverpool who want to re-sign Fowler. They are also the favourites for his signature since they're the only club currently allowed to talk to him and the club he'd choose to sign for. Negotiations are taking place at this stage, but there's no doubt a final offer must be made soon.Unless Fowler signs, he will be available to go elsewhere for the right price.
LEEDS Leeds' interest must be taken seriously. The word in Yorkshire is a pounds 10m bid is imminent. They tried to sign Fowler in the summer of 1999 but were warned off. Circumstances have now changed. But would life at Elland Road differ to life at Anfield? Fowler would be competing with Robbie Keane, Alan Smith and Mark Viduka for a place in the side.
BLACKBURN Despite publicly dismissing the possibility, Graeme Souness is ready to offer pounds 10m for Fowler. He's just sold Markus Bent and recent pounds 7m arrival Corrado Grabbi could be on his way already. The word in Lancashire is Souness is counting his pennies and he wouldn't be able to stop himself having a go if Fowler was on the market. On paper, Blackburn does not seem an attractive option but the excellent relationship between Souness and Fowler means the prospect isn't as daft as it sounds.
LAZIOA move abroad is financially attractive, but Fowler is thought to prefer staying on these shores. While Steve McManaman prepared well in advance for his transfer abroad, with a family settled in the area it would require a huge culture change for Fowler to head for Italy.
RANGERS Fowler would probably score more goals than Henrik Larsson in Scotland.
He has many connections North of the border and the Glasgow giants could afford him. If Fowler ends up going anywhere, Reds fans may hope it's Ibrox because at least then the striker can't come back to haunt the club.
CHELSEA The Londoners made a bid of pounds 12m last year. Liverpool were willing to talk business if Fowler fancied the move.
Fowler didn't and is unlikely to have changed his mind. Other interested clubs would be far more attractive.
