Police quiz man over missing boys.

A MAN has been questioned about the murder of two boys who disappeared in west Belfast 27 years ago.

He was taken from Maghaberry Prison in Co Antrim where he is serving a sentence, for questioning about the disappearance of Thomas Spence, 11, and John Rodgers, 13, who vanished while on their way to school in west Belfast in November 1974 and never seen again.

Police fear the schoolboys were murdered and as the arrest was made they began to dig up the rear gardens of two houses in a street where one of them lived - one is a former home of the suspect.

Detective Superintendent John Short said the RUC was investigating the abduction and murder of the two missing boys and the man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
