Pickard warns Tim.

TOP coach Tony Pickard feels the talented young guns of tennis will make it increasingly difficult for British number one Tim Henman to win a grand slam title.

Australian sensation Lleyton Hewitt captured the US Open title with a stunning straight sets victory over Pete Sampras at Flushing Meadows, with the American claiming his 20-year-old conquer would go on to dominate the men's game.

And Pickard - who coached Swede Stefan Edberg to grand slam glory - reckons that, having just turned 27, Henman could find it a struggle.

Pickard said: "Hewitt is one of a few that are going to make up the new guard. Marat Safin, Roger Federer and Juan Carlos Ferrero are all in their early 20s, so you would have to say that this new young guard are going to dominate."

Pickard added: "The chances keep coming (for Henman), but the chances keep going. With these young guys coming up, it is going to make life harder."
