New worm attacks Code Red and IIS.

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

A new malicious program which attacks the Code Red worm along with IIS servers has been discovered.

According to Moscow-based Kaspersky Labs, the new Blue Code worm attempts to remove all traces of Code Red on the web servers it infects. It also launches a daily denial of service attack on a Chinese web site.

The worm, which like Code Red affects servers operating on Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) platform, tries to disguise its presence on infected IIS servers by using names of harmless Windows files.
