Mirror M@ilbox: Pool cue to right wrong.

Byline: David Harrison

MY partner and I decided to go swimming at our local pool but were told they have women-only sessions on a Monday evening, so we were not admitted.

We then decided to go to the swimming pool in a neighbouring town but were told it was only open to learners that evening.

We were disgusted, not only at the fact that we couldn't go to any local pools together but also that men were excluded.

We pay our taxes just as women do and shouldn't be discriminated against in this way.

The excuse given by staff at both swimming pools was "that's the way it's always been".

Just as well nobody used that poor reasoning with Emmeline Pankhurst and Martin Luther King.
