Football: That was Kiely a penalty says stunned Saha.
CHARLTON..................1FULHAM ......................1
LOUIS SAHA last night blasted referee Jeff Winter for costing Fulham victory at Charlton.
The French striker was kicked in the chest by keeper Dean Kiely as he bore down on goal near the end of the first half.
Winter waved away frantic appeals for a spot-kick and Saha said: "I was a bit surprised about the decision - he didn't touch the ball so, for me, it is a penalty."
Fulham boss Jean Tigana said: "I think it was not only a penalty but also a red card. I went to protest to the fourth official but he told me to sit down."
Saha, with three goals already this season, had plenty of other chances to increase his tally at The Valley and was upset at missing out.
He added: "When you have so many chances it is a little disappointing not to have won and we deserved three points.
"But it was a tough game. They played very hard and they tried to play good football today."
Charlton took the lead after 34 minutes when Andy Melville could do nothing but knock a Shaun Bartlett header off the line from inside the six-yard box.
Luis Boa Morte volleyed in a quick equaliser but Fulham couldn't find a winner despite dominating against an injury-hit Charlton outfit.
And it was Charlton who nearly won it at the death when Holland keeper Edwin van der Sar produced a brilliant stop to deny Chris Powell.
Fulham had expected to give record pounds 11.5million signing Steve Marlet his debut but he picked a knock playing for France.
