Football: GIBSON CALLS TUNE WITH A DEADLY 1-2.

QUEEN'S PARK ................1 EAST FIFE ......................2

THANKS to a magnificent Keith Gibson double, East Fife grabbed their first victory of the season and left Queen's Park still winless in the league basement.

Gibson was pulling the strings in midfield and it was no surprise when following yet another super save from keeper Smith, he netted a beauty.

The Spiders equalised in the 36th minute when Willie Wilson mis-hit a Ewing cross into his own net but just before break Gibson cracked home No.2.

Despite occasional flurries in the second half Queen's could not pierce the visitors' defence.
