Football: Fab Forfar hit them for sick.
FORFAR...2 COWDENBEATH...1FORFAR boss Neil Cooper praised his depleted side after they ground out their first home win of the season.
Cooper was minus several key players because of illness so Paul Tosh and Barry Sellars both played despite being hit by flu.
Brave Tosh scored one of the goals and Cooper said: "We had a depleted squad but full marks to the boys for effort. Sellars and Tosh were not 100 per cent fit but they played anyway and it says a lot for them."
Forfar stormed ahead after 32 minutes with an own goal from Cowdenbeath defender David White.
Sean Christie's shot from the left looked to be covered by keeper Craig Gordon but White deflected the ball into the net.
Tosh pounced to steer home No.2 in the 43rd minute after Gordon could only parry Sellars' 20-yard drive.
Beath grabbed a lifeline a minute after the break through sub Ian Mauchlen and he came close to hitting an equaliser.
Manager Gary Kirk said: "We're disappointed because we dominated and should have won the game. We needed a rub of the green but didn't get it."
