Entertainments: top ten movies.
1. Moulin Rouge (12)Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman dazzle in breathtaking, offbeat musical. Hard to work out what's going on with the plot - but the film is sensational.
2. The Fast and the Furious (15)
Supercharged story of hot cars and fast babes with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as speed-crazy macho men. Slick, adrenalin-charged, daft.
3. A Knight's Tale (PG)
Knights of old were never bolder than Heath Ledger and Rufus Sewell in an enjoyable historical romp. With music from Robbie Williams, Queen and David Bowie, the age of chivalry is groovy.
4. Scary Movie 2 (18)
Bad trip as the Wayan's team, who made last year's smash-hit slasher spoof, flit to a haunted house. Randy ghost and sick jokes in a stale sequel.
5. Planet of the Apes (12)
Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Roth in Tim Burton's dark re-make. Looks stunning but the plot's a dud.
6. Cats and Dogs (PG)
Karate-kicking moggies want to take over the world but a secret army of pooches is out to stop them. Great idea and great animatronics. Critics hated it - but they're not under 10.
7. The Martins (15)
Sad family of losers in a comedy without laughs. Lee Evans and Kathy Burke try hard, but can't work miracles.
8. Rush Hour 2 (12)
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are back as the mismatched cops in action sequel with side-splitting chat.
9.Heartbreakers (15)
Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt are mother and daughter conwomen. Billionaire Gene Hackman is the target. Ray Liotta also stars in a black comedy with lots of laughs.
10. Shrek (U)
Dazzling, animated fairytale. Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers voice a sharp, funny script.
