County to go green.

NEW facilities for composting green waste are to be introduced in Denbighshire.

Councillors will tomorrow be asked to approve a scheme for bio-degradable materials to be collected separately at the civic amenity sites in Rhyl, Prestatyn, Denbigh and Ruthin, .

The move will take the county's recycling figure closer to the Assembly target of 15pc by 2003-2004.

The current level is 4.6pc.

It will cost pounds 53,000 over the next six months, but, after savings in landfill charges, the net cost will be pounds 39,000.
