More appropriate wording for this title would be red, blue & white as opposed to red, white & blue but that isn't as catchy. See what I got for the low, low price of $20 last week at the flea market.
This isn't what you'd call a fine example of collectible flow blue. In fact, it isn't even flow blue. It's reproduction Victoriaware, probably made in the 80's or 90's.
But it has a good look and I liked it as soon as I saw it for my dining room table. Which is why as soon as I got it home I put it in the kitchen and filled it with tomatoes.
It looks good in there too.
Yep. It's full of fruit flies. Yep. I'm using this to get rid of them. I'm also using these mason jar screw on caps which I've never had success with before, but this year I gave them another shot and they're working great.
I always forget to mention (advice I've ignored right here) that to get rid of fruit flies you HAVE to get rid of their main source. In this case the tomatoes in the fake flow blue bowl.
For a while this summer I covered my village of tomatoes on the counter with cheesecloth to keep the fruit flies off.
It would have been a success had I not completely forgotten they were under there until a few started to liquify.
Out of sight, out of mind, out of tomato salad ingredients.

CLICK THE 3 DOTS ON THE UPPER RIGHT OF THE PUZZLE. Then click "CHANGE NUMBER OF PUZZLE PIECES". You'll be able to select however many pieces you want up to over 200 pieces.
To make the puzzle as reliable as possible:

- Hold your phone or tablet horizontally, not vertically.
1:06 for me. For a 16 piece puzzle. That was so pathetic, I thought I'd do it again. So I did. 51 seconds for the second try.
Now I felt like I was kind of on a roll so I did it again.
44 seconds.
One more time. Because now it's a game.
34 seconds.
This is where I cashed my chips in, called myself a winner and made a tomato sandwich
Have a good remainder of your weekend!

Maybe you should screen print some tea towels or flour sacks with "TOMATOES," and use those to cover them with? Maybe a pretty picture of some of your tomatoes too. Then you'll know what's under there. Tada! 😁

Love the blue and tomatoes. It’s perfect.

Just wondering on a sunny Sunday morn - is it just my aging eyeballs or was some digital trickery used to make the tomatoes look like a painting on canvas?
Karen
No digital trickery, lol. Wait. Do you mean Photoshop? Then yes I used digital trickery for enhancing the pic. ~ karen!

To MY ancient oculars the bowl looks photo clear and the tomatoes look like an oil painting. NOT a criticism, pretty interesting effect in fact.

Love the bowl! Lucky find!

49 seconds, but who's counting! Anyway, lovely bowl and great find. I'm sad that our tomatoes seem to be coming to an end for the year as we didn't get as many as last year, not even enough to freeze for winter use. Oh well, maybe next year??? Just grateful to have had some stellar BLT's this summer.
Karen
Every spring I plant too many tomatoes. Every fall I say never again. And repeat. Even if I only got 1 tomato from every plant I'd have too many tomatoes for one person. 😆 karen!
Karen
You stopped before you beat my time?! I could never. I'm even thinking of giving it another shot, lol. ~ karen!

Nice flea market find! Why can't I ever find something like that??
Fruit flies.....ugh. Don't I know them well.... I have one more pile of tomatoes left on my counter and tomorrow they will be sauce! I have to say thank goodness! By this time I'm fed up with the veggies that are coming out of my ears. Lol
Still waiting for my loofahs but it may be a lost cause as I didn't realize you had to start them inside quite early. But hey, at least they made it to the growing stage (about 7-8 inches) as they are very Finicky!
Keeping my fingers crossed. Still have to pull all my butternut squash and taters and the pumpkins went crazy this year. Especially the white!
Thanks for the puzzle and enjoy the weekend =}
