Today was firewood delivery day. 1 bush cord dumped on the road beside my house. It's a moment in my life I usually share around this time.
I post a photo of myself standing in front of a wood pile so large it comes with its own sherpa.
The wood normally arrives by around 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. I got a phone call saying it wouldn't arrive until 5. At this point you can sense the wood did not arrive at 5.
The wood arrived at 6:45. Tonight the sun set at 6:17. It was dark. Do you know how many things can crawl out of a piece of firewood? Nobody in their right mind would move wood in the dark.
That's just asking to be strangled by a snake or wake up with roly poly bugs coming out of your ears.
Because I don't have a photo of my wood pile, I'm afraid this week's puzzle is yet again going to be a photo of Philip because the only photos I have on my phone anymore are photos Philip and of small print that I can't read unless I take a picture of it and zoom in.
I'm a Zoomer.
Have a good remainder of your weekend.

By the way, I've discovered I actually like doing puzzles with a lot more pieces. If it's lower than 100 I feel like I have to race through it. But if you get me up closer to 200 pieces then I lose the urge to race. And can therefore enjoy it.

Back when we were all young and stupid, some with spouse, some w/o, and definitely no kids, all holding down decent-paying jobs w/o much obligations, hubby's undergrad housemate bought a house and asked if we would share it and pay rent. We did. The house had a big addition extending from the former dining room. Hubby's friend even had a huge dining table made especially for it. One day, we bought a 10,000-piece puzzle in Toronto (this was before the existence of 3-D puzzles) and we used the table to put it together. Anyone who came to visit had to work on it. It took months, but boy, was it ever fun!

Now I need to know if you can remember what the puzzle was. ~ karen!

Honestly, no! 😊Though I remember it's scenery of some kind, blue sky and all. We still have it up in the attic. After the puzzle was put together, we decided that it's not going to be taken apart, so we painted a layer of glue on top, then varnished it.

My dear friend arrived last Friday for a brief visit and loves puzzles. So I trotted out a partially completed one of Fallingwater. Within an hour she had the middle 80% filled in without referring to the photo! She says she looks for shapes, which I do too but yea, I’m a photo peeper.🤣😂
And I too ignore the clock, the idea is to be in the moment and ignore time!

Does the city provide firewood free? Why else would they drop it in the road? You have to get it quickly so there are no accidents but do you have to sweep the road after? Seems only right if they bring it free but what about those that don't clean up the mess? You must have taken it around back as the picture shows you loading it - but did you dump it in your yard? Then next morning stack it neatly sans bugs/critters? Seems that would be extra work to dump it far in a corner then move it the next morning to stack but maybe this is a rare instance? How cold was it? What did you eat to warm yourself when you finally moved it? There must be lots of people that are too old to do all that but still need wood and is there a group of people that volunteer to help them? Just worried about you - take care and hope you spent the next day working on large puzzles.

“Does the city provide firewood free?”???? Omg that’s one of the funniest lines I’ve read in a long time. You obviously don’t live around here 😂. Hamilton has some of the highest property taxes in Canada. If they delivered free wood, our taxes would go up so much we’d all have to move! Lol.

I love the term Zoomer - much more descriptive, at this point, than Boomer!!!

Just as well you only have pics of Philip - It was a nice puzzle. Clocked at 56:32 - I am slow and have too much time for puzzles! Though I really enjoyed all the different focus patterns in the leaves.

Too funny, my husband is a zoomed and the only photos I have are of Luka, my German Shepherd Dog!

OK., I had to resort to Google to learn that a BUSH CORD: 128 CuFt (e.g. 8' X 4' X 4' Pile) -- 4 Rows of Logs, which can weigh between 2000-3000 pounds! which also equals about 20-30 Karen Bertelsens. HOLY CRAP!!!! You are a human dynamo and words fail me. Mere mortals need bow before thee. Way to go kiddo.

Totally, 100% agree! You've definitely figured out the secret for staying young and fit - while we don't have miles of wood delivered that we have to stack, we try to keep moving. Hopefully, it causes aging gracefully, right?
