Swedish electronic dance music artist, Alessandro Lindblad, AKA Alesso, is a well-rounded DJ, but specializes in progressive house with both his remixes and original tracks hitting global success.
Born 7 July 1991, Alesso hit the EDM world fast and hard, catching worldwide attention in 2011 for both his remixes and originals by some of the largest EDM artists, among them were Avicci, Tiesto, Kaskade and Swedish House Mafia. His biggest hit becoming the remix he did of âPressure,â originally by Nadia Ali, Starkillers & Alex Kenji; in fact, the remix became one of the most played EDM songs in 2011. Alesso easily hit the Top 100 DJ list for DJ Mag in the number 70 spot, earning him MTVâs EDM Artist to watch in 2012.
With all this attention, 2012 turned out to be another great year for the young artist. In April he made his first BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, moved up to the 20th spot on DJ Magâs Top 100 DJ list. His collaboration with One Republicâs Ryan Tedder, and fellow Swedish DJ Sebastian Ingrosso resulted the global chart topping track âCalling (Lose My Mind).â
Using the forward momentum from the previous year, Alesso found himself on top of the charts again in 2013 with his collaboration with mega DJ Calvin Harris and Hurts for âUnder Control.â In 2014 he found himself making the rounds of the worldâs largest EDM festivals such as Ultra Europe Festival in Croatia and Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Read moreAlessandro Lindblad shortened his name to Alesso, remixed some of the best EDM DJs in the world, and made a big name for himself. I was really lucky to catch his set at Ultra Music Festival this past summer. His set was packed but my friends and I were able to push our way closer to the stage. He really built up anticipation with the synced lights and an increasingly fast beat, leading up to a countdown type beat. Compared to others, his set was fairly mild in a good way. His music raged but his visuals were mostly just lights and smoke screens.
Surrounded by tons of girls with flower crowns and tutus, we danced through the hour long set, not slowing down for a second. As the energy of the crowd sustained, so did Alessoâs. Every so often, there would be a dancer on stage next to Alessoâs table. He would also hype up the crowd by talking to them inbetween. In his set he also included his best remixes like âPressure.â The best part of his set though, was his originals that he slightly changed to make the set unique. Midway he played âYearsâ and closed out with âCalling (Lose My Mind).â By the time his set was over, everyone was super exhausted from the great music and raging.
Swedish EDM artist Alessandro Lindblad, otherwise known by his stage persona of Alesso is now one of the most recognisable names in dance/electro following his collaborations with the likes of Avicii, Calvin Harris and David Guetta. He was an artist that was on many people's 'Must See' lists at last year's T in the Park and when he took over at the main stage he did disappoint.
Away from the rock heavy lineup, Alesso offered the electro searchers a hedonistic dance party as he combined his own tracks with some of the best dance music around at the moment. Huge flames adorned his back drop and decks as he played 'Tear The Roof Up'. The young musician played a brilliant mash up of huge tracks such as 'Next Level' and 'Summer' which kept the festival revellers in high spirits.
The crowd did not really stop pulsating and jumping throughout his hour long set as the DJ commanded his followers to throw themselves into the show. His finale of 'Under Control' by Calvin Harris & Hurts is a momentous explosion of sound and visuals as the audience scream and cheer at deafening levels.
Alessandro Lindblad, also known by his stage name Alesso, is a successful DJ who specialises in progressive House. Alesso has found international fame with his remixes and originals by some of the biggest EDM artists around at the moment, including Avicci and Swedish House Mafia. When he arrived on stage, secure behind his DJ booth and with an accompanying cheer by the excited crowd, I knew that I was in for a party. Alesso delivered. The atmosphere at his show was pumping, the perfect vibe for a festival. The crowd was heaving and it was difficult just to get a good view of the man himself. Ales often shouted out to the crowd, getting everyone revved up and dancing. Smoke and lights accompanied his set to great effect, adding to the party atmosphere and enhancing the overall performance. On the whole though, Alesso didnât need any flashy gimmicks or lights. His music did all the work. When hit remixes âSummerâ, âTear the Roof upâ and âPressureâ were all played, the crowd went absolutely wild and everyone sang and raved along.
First off, the venue of Avant Gardner at the Brookkyn Mirage was amazing. Very highly recommended place to see a show.
As for Alesso, what can a lover of House music say? He is an amazing talent, with and endless amount of awesome music and his show did not disappoint. It was 2 of the best nonstop 2 hour sets of music, lights, lasers and showmanship I have ever witnessed. Totally worth the time, money and effort to go as nd see him.
It was AMAZING! From the moment Don Salvatore Ganacci came out I knew it was going to be an unforgettable night!
Alesso was breathtaking with his unbeatable beat drops. I loved every second of it!
Highly recommend people to see him live!
I wish he would have gone in earlier! We waited for hours before he actually started playing and unfortunately had to leave before he was done. It would have been nice if he started at least a little bit closer to the listed start time.
AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE! Alesso knows how to feel the crowd perfectly. He gave me a natural, musical high. I just wish he would've played "Is That For Me" featuring Anitta.
