POLITICAL GLOBALIZATION
Political globalization refers to the growth of the worldwide political system, both in size and complexity. That system includes na -
tional governments, their governmental and intergovernmental organizations as well as government-independent elements of global civil
society such as international non-governmental organizations and social movement organizations.
Examples:
- Democracy
- Oligarchy
- Monarchy
POLITICAL SYSTEM
Political systems are the formal and informal political processes by
which decisions are made concerning the use, production and distribu-
tion of resources in any given society.
Informal political process - Activism, protests, and campaigns are
common avenues.
Formal political process - Participation of people in formal politi-
cal and electoral processes.

NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION
Insert the title of your subtitle Here (NGO)
It is a voluntary group of individuals or organizations,
usually not affiliated with any government, that is formed
to provide services or to advocate a public policy.
Although some NGOs are for-profit corporations, the vast
majority are nonprofit organizations.
The Role of Non-Governmental Organization in Globalization
NGO activities include, but are not limited to, environmental, social, advocacy and human rights work.
They can work to promote social or political change on a broad scale or very locally.
NGOs play a critical part in developing society, improving communities, and promoting citizen participation.
INTER-
GOVERMENTAL
ORGANIZATION
The term intergovernmental organization
(IGO) refers to an entity created by
treaty, involving two or more nations, to
work in good faith, on issues of
common interest.
In the absence of a treaty an IGO does
not exist in the legal sense.
The main purposes of IGOs were to
create a mechanism for the world’s
inhabitants to work more successfully
together in the areas of peace and
security, and also to deal with economic
and social questions.

CHARACTERISTICS:
GREATER INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
This aspect of globalization aims to expand international cooperation in order to address difficulties that
would be impossible to resolve in a single country. The fight against global warming is a perfect example; any
initiative to adopt policies to stop it involves the participation of as many governments as feasible.
DECENTRALIZATION OF POWER
The formation of global groups that assume some of the power previously exercised by national govern-
ments is the first feature of political globalization. States' sovereignty has been weakened as a
result of this.
AVOID CONFLICTS
The organizations that arose as a result of this globalization have attempted to eliminate war conflicts all over the
planet. That mission is carried out by organizations ranging from the European Union to multiple UN agencies,
with varying degrees of effectiveness.
CHARACTERISTICS:
SEARCH FOR UNIVERSAL JUSTICE
Several international court have been established in recent years to try extremely serious crimes such as geno -
cide and the behavior of specific dictators. States must recognize their authority for this system to work, yet some
(particularly the large nations) are unwilling to surrender sovereignty.
FREE TRADE
Although this trait is fully integrated into the international market, governments were the first to adopt it univer -
sally. In this sense, recent trade accords between multiple nations have stayed constant. The main goal is to
remove all trade restrictions (import and export taxes) to allow trade to flow freely.
