Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana

 Major objectives of PMKSY

• To achieve end to end water use system and convergence of investments in


irrigation at field level,
• Expand cultivable area under assured irrigation,
• Improve on-farm water use efficiency to reduce wastage of water
• Enhance the adoption of precision-irrigation and other water saving
technologies.
Major Components of PMKSY
AIBP • To focus on faster completion of ongoing Major and Medium Irrigation including National

• Creation of new water sources through Minor Irrigation (both surface and ground

ISSUES
1) The process of release of Central Grants to the implementing agencies
need to be expedited within 15 days as prescribed in the release orders
of GoI. This would facilitate accrual of more Central Grants as
subsequent installments in the same financial year.

2) Two CA releases of Feb-March 2023 totaling to Rs 4194.90 Lakh against

Har Khet Ko Pani component SMI are lying in the State exchequer is to
be released to the implementing agency.
Actionable points identified during IDWG meeting of 15th May 2023:

1. Coordination of implementing agencies in the District level is to be


strengthened.

2. Joint sample survey to determine the extent of synchronization of HKKP


and PDMC components.

3. Issue of empanelling suppliers for supply and installation of micro irrigation


is to be discussed in the SLSC.

4. Issue of top-up fund proposal to lighten the Farmer’s Share of 45% against
micro irrigation.

5. Issue pertaining to sharing of Watershed Management component’s


implementation with the Soil & Water Conservation wing of RWD.
