Del Mundo Opens Hospital
 Fe Del Mundo (Nov. 27, 1911–Aug. 6, 2011) is
credited with studies that led to the invention
of an improved incubator and a device to
treat jaundice. Along with pioneering work
in pediatrics, she had an active medical
practice in the Philippines that spanned eight
decades and founded a major children's
hospital in that country.

 The Children's Medical Center, a 100-bed


hospital located in Quezon City, was
inaugurated in 1957 as the first pediatric
hospital in the Philippines. The hospital was
expanded in 1966 through the establishment
of an Institute of Maternal and Child Health,
the first institution of its kind in Asia.
Moon Buggy: in 1968 by Eduardo San Juan
 Mechanical engineer Eduardo San Juan (aka The Space
Junkman) worked on the team that invented the Lunar
Rover, or Moon Buggy. San Juan is considered the
primary designer of the Lunar Rover. He was also the
designer of the Articulated Wheel System. Prior to the
Apollo program, San Juan worked on the
Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).

 Eduardo San Juan graduated from Mapua Institute of


Technology. He then studied nuclear engineering at the
University of Washington In 1978, San Juan received
one of the Ten Outstanding Men (TOM) awards in
science and technology.
Erythromycin:  Dr. Abelardo Aguilar
in 1949
A doctor from Iloilo, Aguilar worked for the
pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and
Company as a researcher. Then in 1949, he
submitted samples of his work to the
company’s research team who in 1952
declared the discovery of a new kind of
antibiotic.

According to the team, the new drug was


capable of treating several kinds of
infections minus the common side-effects

 Pedro Edralin Flores is widely considered as the
first yo-yo maker in the US and with his Flores yo-yo
created the start of an international craze.

the Yo-yo Manufacturing Company in Santa Barbara,
CA before selling the company and trademark
to Duncan who continued to market and sell Flores
yo-yos alongside the Duncan line.
Flores Yo-  Pedro Flores is most-often described as the inventor of
the yo-yo, but Pedro never personally claimed to have
yos invented the yo-yo, always mentioning its past history
as a centuries-old Philippine game. In addition he is
also referred to as the original patent holder of the yo-
yo, however yo-yos (Bandalores) have already been
patented prior to the company's existence.
