How to hide (unmount) a partition in Windows, using Disk Management
This method is quite simple but you need to very careful while hiding the partition. Or
false operation may get your partition deleted by mistake.
Right-click This PC/My Computer and select Manage;
Click Disk Management;
In the Disk Management window, identify the partition that you want to hide.
You can see it in the list of volumes on the top, on in the graphical representation of all
your disks, on the bottom.
Select and right-click the partition that you want to hide and choose Change
Drive Letter and Path...
Tap: Remove and click OK.
There, your partition will show as New Volume in Disk Management and will not show
up in your PC anymore.
How to unhide (mount) a partition in Windows, using Disk Management
When you want the partition available again, you need to unhide it or mount it again.
To do that, open the Disk Management tool.
In the list of volumes from the top, or in that of disks on the bottom, find the hidden
partition and right-click on it.
On a screen with touch, press and hold on it. In the menu that is shown, choose "Change
Drive Letter and Paths."
In the window that opens, press the Add button.
The "Add Drive Letter or Path" window opens. Here, choose the drive letter that you
want to assign, in the dropdown list on the right. Then, click or tap OK.
The partition is now mounted and visible to all users and apps on your Windows
installation.
