information more if we relate it to ourselves.
Encoding Specificity Principle : It basically says that we will recall things better if our
environment or context when trying to remember the information is similar to the
environment in which we memorized it.

Organization Mnemonic Devices
Hierarchy Technique : A second way to organize material is to construct a hierarchy. A

Tips for structuring your study sessions

Testing Effect : It is basically the observation that the act of taking a test is actually an
excellent way to boost long-term recall for material. So, It's great to do a pre-test before
you actually start studying and cramming and reviewing and trying to memorize the
material.
Active Recall : It's basically the process of searching your brain to find an answer ( it's
proven to improve memory). Example : Flashcards, Practice Test.
Spacing out your study sessions, can help push back the forgetting curve and you will
remember more material. Try to do a review session of material about 10-15 minutes
every couple of days.
