Final Self-Reflection

In the soon-to-be-concluded internship period, looking back on the bits and pieces I
have experienced during this time, I deeply feel that the time has passed in a hurry,
but it is also very fruitful. This internship has been a valuable experience in my life,
and I have learnt a lot during this period, not only about professional knowledge, and
skills, but also important insights about self-growth and career development.
When it comes to classroom management, most of the girls in our class have no
problems, most of the boys have problems, some are too active, some don't follow
classroom discipline, and some can't get along well with other students. After a
semester together, I already know every student very well, and I can know different
ways to deal with different problematic students. For example, some very active
students love to talk in class. I would involve them more in activities and then
emphasize the classroom rules with them during lectures. I would not ask the active
students to sit on the bench in the same way as the other students. This is because
when they are sitting on the bench in a regular manner, they are not in a position to
learn. Their minds are focused on how to sit quietly on the bench, not on what the
teacher is saying. So, I don't discipline such students as long as they don't disturb
other students and have some movement in his own seat.
In terms of lecturing, I have accumulated a lot of activities that can be used in the
classroom to interact with students. For example, I have the students form a big circle
and give them an object. When the music stops, whoever has the object needs to
answer the question. Also hiding the learning outside and having the students go
outside to find it would be very motivating for the students. Or lead the students to do
some directive games, the students who don't follow the instruction or move slowly
will be eliminated. Before the internship, I was afraid of standing in front of the class,
but after a semester of internship, lecturing is not as scary to me as it was before, and I
can accept lecturing, standing in front of the class, and facing the students. As a
teacher, it is right to think that lecturing is sacred. It is necessary to take each lesson
seriously. But it is also necessary not to be very anxious; there is no way for a teacher
to be physically and mentally healthy to teach students if they are anxious before each
lesson.
In terms of contact with students, after this semester's internship, I have become more
comfortable with children. I was very impatient before, but being in this work
environment every day, constantly honing and exercising, has given me more patience
with the students. I would be so relieved to see that the students are very
understanding. I would also be sad when the students are disobedient. But before I
was impatient with children, I wouldn't see their understanding. Now I can see the
light in my students, which is a big improvement. Every student has something to
offer, before I just thought they were noisy, and I didn't have enough patience with
them. But after this semester's bonding and contact, I found that some students are not
good at school, but they love to help the teacher, and they are very active in
completing the tasks that the teacher assigns to them. Some students are very naughty,
but he accepts the teacher's criticism with an open mind, does not show impatience to
the teacher's criticism, and is willing to communicate with the teacher.
All in all, this semester's internship experience has been invaluable in helping me get
one step closer to becoming a qualified teacher. I have also grown as I continue to
accumulate learning practices. In my future teaching, I will also bring these
experiences and methods to educate more students. I will continue to maintain an
attitude of learning and progress, challenge myself and strive for my professional
development and personal growth.
