II. Rationale

Pursuant to RA 7079, otherwise known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, released through
DepEd Order No. 94, s. 1992, which stipulates the holding of the annual Schools Press Conference, the
Schools Division of the City of Mati will participate in the upcoming 2024 Regional Schools Press Conference
with the theme, “Championing the MATATAG Agenda as a Change Driver through Campus Journalism,” on
March 18-22, 2024, at Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.

With this, two (2) Campus Journalists (CJs) and one (1) Coach of Buso National High School, after
having been declared winners during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024, will represent the
Schools Division of the City of Mati at this year’s RSPC hosted by the Division of Davao de Oro.

III. Objective:

The activity aims to:


1. Demonstrate understanding of journalism through skillful execution in various platforms (i.e., print,
broadcast, online);
2. Recognize the role of journalism in advocating social consciousness and environmental awareness;
3. Provide learners with opportunities to use the skills learned in campus journalism for a future
career; and
4. Build awareness among campus journalists, their right, and their responsibilities as young leaders.
IV. Budgetary Requirement

 Membership Fee to DRASPA, Inc. (P100 for SPA; 180 for 2 CJs) = P 280.00
 Uniform Polo Shirt (P400 x 3 participants) = P 1,200.00
 Meals of 1 Coach (P180.00 per coach x 5 days) = P 900.00
 Meals of 2 Campus Journalists (P100.00 per Campus Journalists x 5 days) = P 1000.00
 Fare (Buso NHS to Nabunturan and Vice Versa) (P1,050 x 3 participants) = P 2,220.00
 Fare from billeting school to contest venue and Vice Versa = P 450.00
(2 Campus Journalists and 1 Coach) x 5 days

TOTAL P 6,050.00
