I. COURSE/PROGRAM TITLE:

ITAAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER

II. RATIONALE:

The Republic Act No. 9710, or the Magna Carta for Women (MCW) is
a comprehensive women’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate
discrimination through the recognition, protection, fulfillment, and
promotion of the rights of Filipino women, especially those belonging to
the marginalized sectors of society.

In relation to this, Itaas Elementary School eager to establish an


area to accommodate personnels and stakeholders that are with
newborn child and are Breast feeding. Area that can be used to secure
safety and wellbeing of both mother and child. This area can also be
used in accommodating Gender concerns and issues that may help the
learners, school personnels and other stakeholder. Provide basic
knowledge services and assistance that are related to gender
awareness and gender sensitivity.

In response to Republic Act no.9710, and through Gender and


Development (GAD) our school plans establish and open a Gender and
Development Center this November 8, 2024 at Building 4 Biazon 3, 1 st
Floor beside the School Clinic.

III. OBJECTIVES:

In reference to Republic Act No. 9710, and in relation to MATATAG


Agenda, through Gender and Development (GAD) the following
objectives were crafted:

1. Take steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education


facilities and services; (PPST). TA in MATATAG Objective No. 2
2. Give support to breast feeding teachers to teach better
through providing them and their child a safe and comfortable
area for breast feeding. G in MATATAG Objective No. 4

3. To accommodate and provide support to IES personnels and


stakeholders in their gender issues and needs.

Establish a Gender and Development Center for Itaas Elementary


school personnels and stakeholders.
