THEME World of Knowledge TOPIC MODULE 1 : WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to talk about daily routines.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Pre-lesson

1. Stick the flashcards of ice-skate, play chess, football and ice-skating rink on the board.
Point to each one, say the word / phrase and encourage pupils to repeat.

2. Pupils miming everyday activities. (HOTS)

Lesson delivery

3. Pupils look at the Grammar box at the top of page 9. Read the sentences out loud and
pupils repeat.

4. Play a group or pair spelling game which focusses on the spelling of adverbs in this
lesson.

5. Pupils listen to four short dialogues and write always, usually, sometimes or never,
ACTIVITIES according to what they hear. (CD1, Track12)

6. Play the CD twice and get pupils to do the activity. Pupils check answer in pairs first, then
check as a class.

7. Pupils look at the picture and ask them what they think the boy is doing.

8. Pupils listen (CD1, Track 13), read and tick. Then talk about their day in pairs. (CBA)

9. Pupils write sentences about their day in their notebook use cursive writing.

10. Ask pupils to compare their sentences with some others in the class (as a mingling or a
large group activity). (21st CA)

Post-lesson

Ask pupils to talk about their daily routines in pairs.

THEME World of Self, Family and Friends TOPIC Poem - The Tooth

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to:

1. Guess the meaning of words based on pictures from the poem.

2. Explain whether they like the poem using their own words.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES

ACTIVITIES

Pre-lesson:
Pupils revised parts of the body by singing a song. (Head, shoulder, ….song)
Lesson development:-

1. Teacher introduces the poem. Pupils discuss the corresponding images on the page.
Ask pupils to read the poem silently.
2. Divide pupils to a smaller group and provide them with number cards (1 and 2) to
group them according to the stanzas. (21 CA)

3. Each group has to guess the meaning of the verbs from the assigned stanza (Stanza 1:
jiggled, jaggled, jerked and Stanza 2: pull, pushed, poked) by looking at the pictures of
the poem and words that they know (pull & push = may be familiar).
4. Each group acts out their stanza based on their guesses of the verbs. (CBA)
5. Pupils create their own to write a goodbye note / letter to their tooth that fell out.
(HOT)

Post-lesson:-
Teacher poses a question “What do you want to do if your tooth is loose?” and pupils
perform their possible actions based on their imagination.

1. Drill on the alliteration in the poem e.g. Mad Mickey, Fat Fred

2. Pupils brainstorm adjectives that start with the same letter as their first name e.g.

3. Pupils take turns to talk about their names and adjectives. (HOTS)

Pupils chant their new names with actions. (CBA)
