be interviewed for this teacher position today. Before I applied for the role, I managed to read the
job description carefully to ensure I had the necessary skills, qualities, and attributes to perform
to a high standard in the role.

Well, my name is Rizza Mae Agas. I would describe myself as a positive, energetic,
knowledgeable, and industry ous teacher. I have a different style of teaching that are designed to
meet the needs of the students. I would say that I am adaptable, flexible, and supportive of your
school at all times. I will uphold the school's values in my teaching methods. I am hoping that
you will give me an opportunity to teach in your reputed school.

Why do you want to be a teacher?

From a young age, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. I used to play with my cousins, and we will play
school. And I was always a teacher and they were always my students and I would always spend that
time to be teaching them the things that I learned that school that day. What’s inspire me to be a
teacher was as a child in elementary school I struggled a lot, during that time of struggling I had this one
teacher in particular who really took her time to make sure I understood and I learned the lesson and
ever since then I told myself I want to be like that teacher for other students. I want to be a teacher
because I love seeing students come into beginning of the school year not knowing much and only
knowing what they knew from the previous grade they were in and all of us able to look back and reflect
on all of the knowledge which we built together as a family and that brought me here today. n

What are the most important skills and qualities needed to be a teacher?

To be a competent teacher you need several important skills and qualities these include having
patience, understanding and you also need to be able to remain calm in difficult and potentially stressful
situations. You should also be inclusive in your style of teaching so what I mean by that is making sure
that all students regardless of their abilities and their background have the same opportunities that’s
really really important. You need to have a good level of knowledge of your subjects you need to be
creative to be able to design inspiring classes and really interactive lesson plans, you need to be
energetic, motivational, be passionate about your subject and you also need to have really good
leadership skills and be able to plan and organize all lessons in advance of them taking place. You need
to be flexible to support the school, you also need to be open for change because if the school wants to
alter or amend the curriculum you need to be on board and support that and you also need outstanding
communication skills.

What is your teaching philosophy?

“Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power
of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be” and that was where
empire woman name Rita Pearson, that is always forever will always be my teaching philosophy because
you as a teacher you are the champion of your students you spend more time with them than their own
parents do so what better person to be a champion and a role model for their students and their
teacher.

“Always focused on the fact that nobody should get left behind, no student should feel isolated or
excluded and I make sure that I cultivated a positive learning environment where everyone advances
and reaches their full potential”

What’s your teaching style?

I like to use a variety of different teaching style dependent on the subject, the environment and also the
needs of the students so these styles include instructional discussion and also visual and practical styles
of teaching. So the instructional style is when I want the students to listen and follow my instructions.
The discussion style is where I want to encourage the students to ask question and also debated among
themselves so the discussion style is useful because it allows students to improve their communication
skills and also their ability to build relationships with each other. My preferred style of teaching is visual
and practical style where I will use practical demonstrations that the students can relate to because they
will encounter these in their lives as they progress so to summarize I use a mixture of different styles
that are designed to meet the needs of the students.

What is your biggest weakness?

I think my biggest weakness is I find it really hard saying no to people. I’m naturally a people pleaser and
if somebody asks me to help them I always say yes first of all without checking that I have the capacity
to assist them and sometimes in the past I would become overwhelmed with too much wok and whilst I
would never let anybody down. What I do need to do in the future is be more mindful in situations like
these and assess my capacity to take on extra work before saying yes.

What is your strengths?

I think my biggest strength is my interpersonal skills, I have the ability to communicate effectively with
students, parents and fellow colleagues. This will help our classroom to be more collaborative and fun.

I think that my biggest strength is my flexibility and willingness to always learn and try new
things. My biggest weakness is most definitely time management; I usually have too many
things going on at the same time and struggle to juggle them all. It is something that I am
actively working on, however, and am making some progress.

Why should we hire you?

Sir, I am aligned with your institution’s values and missions. For me, teaching is not just a job, it’s a
passion. I am committed to my role as a teacher. I know the importance of a teacher’s role in a
student’s life, and therefore, I make sure that I do not just provide knowledge but also nurture my
students well. I am very confident about myself and my skills, and I believe that I am the right choice
for this role. I am dedicated to this role, and if given the opportunity, I will try my best to become an
asset to your institution.
