A great teacher should understand and know what to teach.
They assists students to improve their skills through a life-long
process of learning.
2. Are these competencies limited only to professional
competencies?
For me, these competencies are not limited only to professional
competencies. I believe that with or without teaching profession,
anyone can teach and mold students to become a better person.
3. For a teacher to be great, is it enough to possess the
professional competencies to plan a lesson, execute a lesson
plan, manage a class, assess learning, compute and report
grades? Explain your answer.
For me, it’s not. It is because a teacher can’t be called a great
teacher if she/he doesn’t how to teach their students effectively and
can’t able to mold them to become a better person.
4. For a teacher to be great, which is more important,
personal qualities or professional competencies?
For me both of these are important to a teacher to be great. It
is because when the two of these are combined together in teaching,
teachers are able to inspire and motivate students to learn without
hesitation. In addition, they will effectively teach students.
5. Who are the teachers that we remember most?
She/he is the teacher who is considerate to his/her students,
have a sense of humor, and good communicator, as well as those
teachers who are kind and help students to understand if she/he
doesn’t know well the topic being discussed by the teacher.

need improvement in?
The personal traits do I possess are being enthusiastic, creative,
adaptable, initiative, and patient. I do not possess the traits of being
confident because I am still shy and I don’t have good communication
skills.

It is for being flexible and enthusiastic.

For having a good communication skills.
4. Who are the teachers that we remember most?

She/he is the teacher who is considerate to his/her students, have a


sense of humor, and good communicator, as well as those teachers who are
kind and help students to understand if she/he doesn’t know well the topic
being discussed by the teacher.

1. OBSERVE In assisting my Resource Teacher, I observed that personal


traits such as the ability to listen well to the needs of her students and
professional competencies like assessment and coaching were least/
not displayed and as a result, students were/class was experiencing
such difficulties and problems in her class.

2. REFLECT The lack of these personal traits and professional


competencies (mentioned in #1) maybe caused by lack of information,
or she may not have explored much when it comes to knowing the
various personal traits and professional competencies a teacher
must possess.

3. PLAN I would like to address the problem (mentioned in # 2) by the


coping mechanism and challenges of high school students
specifically Grade 10 student.

difficulties and coping mechanisms of high school students
specifically Grade 10 student.
b.) My specific research questions are: What is the student profile in
terms of age, gender, and family monthly income? What are the
challenges they face while learning their subject? What coping

subject?
