OVERVIEW:
In times of pandemic, all must join hands to surpass the ill effects
to the lives of everyone. Being the president of the 2022 Supreme
Pupils Government is a good start and an opportunity as well to be of
help to other pupils.
Polaris or North Star always remind me that there is always hope

in times of hardship in life. Like the North Star, I for one can direct
others on how to be safe in times of pandemic. As a leader of our
school, this is the time to show the exact directions on how to
implement simple projects and innovations for those who need help.
By tapping the SPG Officers, the organization can instill positivity,

love, unity and solidarity to the minds of every Northenians.
Since children are not allowed to go out, the SPG officers are
conducting virtual meetings and activities. By tapping the help of our
families, we can help in conducting orientations in conducting
innovations and project. Through this, we can even help the indigent
pupils of our school. We can also spread information on how to be
healthy and safe in the pandemic. We can also conduct virtual
activities to instill love, unity and solidarity in times of hardships.

Youth participation through governmental and non-governmental
organizations is important, but there is a place for other kinds of youth
action and activism as well. Environmentalism has many roots—in
scientific concern for the well-being of resources and ecosystems, in
philosophical reflections about nature, in concerns about public health,
and in clubs involved initially in providing outdoor recreation
opportunities. They care a great deal about identity (what it means to be
an environmentalist) as well as strategy (how environmental goals are to
be achieved). Aside from political action, there are possibilities for youth
participation in practical environmental projects. Examples of restoration
projects include Landcare groups working to reverse land degradation in
overgrazed watersheds in Australia and community-organized tree
planting in rural India. Helping restore one’s own local environment is
instructive, but participating in projects in other countries is especially
educational in that these experiences impart a sense of the variety of
problems in the world’s social and ecological systems. Camps such as
those organized under the auspices of Youth and Environment Europe
can play an important role in this respect. Even one’s everyday life—and
particularly the consumption decisions made in it—can become an
“environmental project” (World YOUTH Report, 2003).
Students are trained to be a leader and act responsibly through

number of tasks from an early age. This way helps them to get useful
feedback related to problem-solving, building positive collaborative
relationships, conflict resolution, diversity awareness, self-confidence,
integrity and work ethic in and out of the classroom to ensure their
academic success (Al-jammal, 2015).
Many authors such as Asasud (2013), Bethel (2008), Ramachander

(2012), Roberts and Inman (2009) argue that good leaders should “make
a difference”. Students, who are in leading positions, are inspired to be
proactive when they know that their actions can make a difference. They
become eager to make changes and they become determined throughout
their life to change the world through their actions (Asasud, 2013).
Leadership occurs when ever one person attempts to influence the

behavior of an individual or a group regardless of the reason. It may be
for one’s own goals or the goal of others and these goals may not be
congruent with organizational goals (Paul, Blanchard, & Johnson Dewey,
2001). Efficacy is making the right choices about goals (Paul et al.,
2001). Leadership, therefore, is a summation of those qualities of
originality, people centered, inspiration, taking the challenge and above
all to be efficient and effective in striving to doing the right thing at all
times. Those who are in leadership require people of particular talent,
and ability and not people who occupy positions of authority because of
associated benefits or favors.
INNOVATION DESCRIPTION:
Project North Star is a school program build by the SPG officers

which aims to help, uplift, educate, and support pupils of PMRMS-North
in terms of improving their learning skills or study habits, promoting
civic engagement and teaching them proper nutrition and hygiene.
INNOVATION STATEMENT:
This innovative project will be made for the following purposes,
1. Be a guide to Northenians on how to be safe in times of pandemic.
2. Show the exact directions on how to implement simple innovations
and projects to SPG members for indigenous pupils.
3. Instill positivity, love, unity and solidarity to pupils.
4. Create awareness among teachers, pupils, and parents on how to
implement the program.
5. Realization of the importance of the program in terms of health.
IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURE
A. This proposed innovative project will be presented to the Schools
Division Superintendent for approval.
B. After the approval of the Schools Division Superintended, the
Proponent will then start the virtual conduct of the Project North
STAR in President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School – North.
C. This proposed project will then be monitored by the SGOD chief.
D. Sustainability measures will be determined and implemented.

E .SUSTAINABILITY PLAN:
This project will be monitored by the Supreme Pupil Government
adviser, school principal, school SPG officers and proponent of the
project all throughout the year to ensure that the said project will
serve its purposes.
