Personal Development Plan

As we grow up, our life change. Not only physically but also emotionally. Our mentality also
changes, from the way we think, we talk, we move and the way we decide to a certain thing. Being a
teacher is not actually my dream profession, like I’ve said, everything changes. But its true that we don’t
know what will happen next. Honestly, I didn’t see myself to be a teacher, because I think I don’t have
the qualities that a good educator must have. But, if this is my fate, I’m willing to take a risk and do my
best until I graduate, because I believe that everything has its own reason why it happens. Just adapt to the
changes. As time passes, I’ve learned a lot of things especially on my self. I can be able to know my
strengths and also my weaknesses as a person. Being persistent, respectful, has patience, dedicated,
disciplined and determined are the strengths I have. While the fear on judgements, and lack of confidence
that results to fear on of sharing my ideas written and verbally in front of people that makes me not to
have great conversation to other people, especially the foreign ones is the weakness I have. I know that
even though I have limited capacity and resources l, I have strengthened my dedication using the love of
my family and friends that motivates myself to do the best and by praying to God to gave me enough
strength to face everything and to strengthen my weaknesses for me to be a better person someday.
In the near future, I hope that I will be able to overcome my weaknesses in life and make it as a
lesson to learn new things. One of this weaknesses that I want to overcome is the fear on facing other or
to the crowd that cause for me to not have good communication to them. I’m not confident enough to
share my ideas especially when talking or using the English language. I’m afraid of judgement. To
overcome this, I need to start to myself by talking to someone and try to share something to them and wait
on their reactions. By this I can be able to know what should I tell again, and also on how should I react.
To be able to talk really good in English, I’ll try to read some books and dictionary and practice speaking
with the help of my friends by having a conversation using this language or I can watch movies or videos
with English language. I should also appreciate everything I have and appreciate myself so that I can gain
more confidence. Meanwhile, to sustain my strength, I need to be stronger, have positive mind, and
embody happiness in life.
If I would be able to graduate under this course, I have already planned to take the Licensure
Examination for Teachers (LET) to have professional license. I’m not really sure right now if I will teach
after I graduate but I have other plans rather than teaching, I will look for some jobs that are related to my
course and I prefer to work abroad. If I will be given a chance to be a professional teacher someday, I
think I will not have only one philosophy. But if I’m going to choose, I prefer the philosophy of
Liberalism because in this we encourage a commitment to democracy, academic freedom, scientific
methodology, objectivity and neutrally. Also according to liberalists, early childhood teachers and
educators must implement effective teaching pedagogy to build and foster the capacity to justify and draw
on the intellect of the learners. I want my students to be open-minded of everything happenings in the
world and learn how to be a proactive problem- solvers which I think will lead to a better future for the
society. But for now, my main goal is to graduate as an educated person imbued with morality, dignity,
and with ethical responsibility by studying hard and adapt to the changes that will happen.
Therefore, I conclude that being a teacher or educator or even other profession is not easy to
achieve, because you need first to do the things that will make you capable or be qualified to it. You need
to exert a lot of efforts, have patience and perseverance. Your future depends on you not on the things
around you. It will just help you but the real key to achieve it is by yourself. Having good education and
discipline is a best thing you should have…
