MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This Memorandum of Agreement executed by and between:

The SAN VICENTE WEST INTEGRATED SCHOOL, a public school, with the
office address of San Vicente West, Asingan, Pangasinan, represented herein by
its School Head, JOJO TRINIDAD DOMINGO, herein after referred to as
“SCHOOL”.

The PARENTS AND TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION of San Vicente West


Integrated School, an association with the address at San Vicente West,
Asingan, Pangasinan, represented herein by its PTA President, MARGIE
RAQUEL CULAR, herein referred to as “STAKEHOLDERS”.

WITNESSETH: That,

WHEREAS, with the 2021 Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa, Amending
Thereby DepEd Memorandum No. 048, s. 2021 titled 2021 Brigada Eskwela
Implementing Guidelines. Page 2 Guideline number 10 state, The Brigada Pagbasa, As
part of Brigada Eskwela, is an after-school reading program that envisions bringing
together education partners and experts to help all the learners read and become
functionally literate.

WHEREAS, the Brigada Pagbasa will serve as a platform to synergize efforts


and resources to address education-related challenges especially on literacy and
numeracy. It also will create opportunities for all stakeholders to contribute possible
solutions to the current gaps in the country’s educational system, especially in equipping
the learners with 21st Century skills.

WHEREAS, all public elementary and secondary schools will implement school
level reading programs and interventions aligned with the Reading Journey with
exemption of face-to-face between the teachers and the pupils/students.

WHEREAS, the duration of the Brigada Pagbasa will from September 20, 2021 to
second week of December 2021. With project evaluation and Volunteer Appreciation
ceremony on the third week of January.
WHEREAS, the SCHOOL will identify and designate Technical Working
Committee for the monitoring and assistance to the STAKEHOLDERS.

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL will voluntarily provide learning materials and reading
materials to the partners/volunteers so with the procedures and learning kits to be
utilized for the duration of Brigada Pagbasa.

WHEREAS, the STAKEHOLDERS shall support thru implementing the programs


in their own home with the aide of volunteer reading facilitator for key stage 1 (kinder to
Grade 3) and by the guardian/parents/siblings for grade 4 to Grade 12 for reading
enhancement.

NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the above premises and mutual
covenants, agreements and stipulations hereinafter set forth, the parties hereby agree
jointly to be partners in the 2020 Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa;

I. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARTIES

1. The SCHOOL shall:

1.1 Coordinate with the STAKEHOLDERS of the specification of funds and


donations of materials to be utilized for the program;

1.2 Oversee the management, operation, and maintenance of the materials


and other resources and purchasing of other equipment donated to the
school and ensure that the same are utilized accordingly.

1.3 Oversee the management of the support given by the STAKEHOLDERS


and ensure that the same are treated well and accommodated
accordingly.

2. The STAKEHOLDERS shall:

2.1 Coordinate with the SCHOOL on the specification of the materials,


equipment and other resources that the school needs;

2.2 Coordinate with the SCHOOL on the allowance/support for the volunteer
throughout the duration of the program;
2.2 Regularly monitor the pupil/student achievement with the School
Monitoring tool provided before the start of the program.

II. EFFECTIVITY OF THE AGREEMENT


This Agreement shall take effect upon the beginning of 2021 Brigada Eskwela
and Brigada Pagbasa and is automatically extended should the 2021 Brigada Eskwela
and Brigada Pagbasa is extended by government.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereunto have affixed their respective


signatures this ____ day of __________ 2021, at San Vicente West Integrated School,
San Vicente West, Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines.
