Sounds are Everywhere

by Melissa G. Santillana
Christmas season is near. Children are practicing their
Christmas carols. The two boys are beating their drums
while the girl is listening at the radio. The ice cream
vendor is ringing the bell on the street.

Questions:

1. What are the devices (objects) in the picture that can

There are many sounds around you. Each object can

produce sound when it vibrates. Vibration is a rapid back-

hear the siren of the ambulance and the fire truck.
Vehicles produce different sounds.

At home, some things produce sounds. The alarm

clock makes a loud sound when it wakes you up in the
morning. The television, radio, and telephone also make
sounds.

are some examples of musical instruments ( Ramos, 2010).
