Parent-Teacher meeting works as a connecting link between parents and teachers as the
parents know how the child behaves and is doing at home while the teachers would know about
their behavior at school. The union of the teacher’s feedback and parent’s concern can immensely
help a child’s educational journey. Despite of the changes happened for the last years due to
CoViD-19, new normal had raised. During this pandemic, it is more essential to conduct virtual
meetings for the parents and guardians therefore they are the who accompany the students in
learning at home. Every parent/guardian needs guidance from the teacher so that their children
can successfully continue the school year’s education.
In the continuation of this school year 2021-2022, the class adviser held the HRPTA virtual
meeting for the second quarter. The HRPTA meeting for Second Quarter was held via Google
Meet last ___date_______. The online meeting began through the singing of the national anthem
followed by an opening prayer. To figure out if the attendees were complete, attendance was
made by a roll call. For the school to give in the attendees the clear outline of what will happen in
the meeting, the agenda was mentioned.
The class adviser reinstated the safety precautions of conducting module distribution and
retrieval at the school. She repeatedly asked the parents and guardians to follow the protocols at
most to continually prevent the spread of the virus and for the smooth flow of work at school. It is
mandatory to be conducted at the school since the number of cases of getting sick has increase in
the area. The class adviser added that if the parent or the guardian is feeling unwell on the day of
distribution of modules, he/she can postpone it or ask for help from other members of the family or
colleague to take the module at the school provided that the parent or guardian had given his/her
message about his/her condition to the class adviser to avoid confusions.
The distribution and retrieval of modules was also mentioned again by the class adviser.
She repeatedly asked for the parents and guardians’ participation to take care of the use of
modules because it will be used by other students next year. She regrets the return of some
modules because some modules were being torn and colored by the students. Again, the class
adviser noted that parents/guardians who often take and return modules should change their
routine because the students may fall behind in their lessons. It can also be difficult for students
because it will double the number of modules that they need to answer. Some of the delayed
answered modules also cause delays in passing of grades among the teachers. The class adviser
noted that if there is an important task or work to do on the same day of distribution of modules,
they can set another day to claim the modules or ask the other parents’ assistance for them to
take the module.
The next thing that the class adviser talked about was the provision of grades for the
students. She explained the difference between the written works and performance tasks and how
to get their scores. She added that there are varieties of activities that the students must do aside
from their modules. The activities in the modules are not recorded and it served as practicing
activity and lecture of that specific lesson per week. The different percentage for each subject was
also mentioned by the class adviser.
It was then followed by calling the names of the students who demonstrated academic excellence
for the second quarter. She greeted them and advised to work harder on studying and for those
students who did not get certificates could still recover and do their best for the upcoming quarter.
The class adviser mentioned that the printed certificates would be available to the parents and
guardians same date as the issuance of their report cards. She also mentioned that she had
prepared a simple gift for them.
She greeted the behavior of her students in their studies in the second quarter because
there was an increase in the number of students who attended online classes. She still provides
additional guidance to the parents/guardians on how they would help their children to further
improve their education and how to help them continue to attend online classes despite that they
are studying at home. She explained that the students’ learning in the new normal is far from the
previous experiences, but with their perseverance the school year will be successfully completed.
She calls on the parents and guardians to give time for their child’s education to avoid not getting
the modules and end up dropping out.
Then an open forum was made for the parents and guardians queries. Some of the parents
ask about the activities in the modules that they found difficult to understand. Some of them asked
about the schedule of food and milk feeding. Then she provided the schedule of the issuance of
report cards. She said that if possible, follow the exact day at time, avoid tearing and return it
neatly to the teacher on the scheduled return date. The class adviser gives them time to ask
queries in announcements or clarifications. The teacher again thanked the attendees and if
anyone remembers to ask more questions can contact through text or Facebook Messenger. At
the end of the meeting everyone offered a closing prayer.
