Presentation and Interpretation of Data

This chapter presents the presentation and interpretation of analysis data

starting from the ingredients and its quantity, the steps and procedure and the

data presentation of each variable.

Ingredients and its Quantity

Table 2. Table that shows the quantity of every ingredient used in making the

product.

Aloe vera and Calabaza were the main ingredients of the CucurVera Soap

that contains the anti-oxidants effective for treating skin allergies which was the

study’s main goal. The glycerin, rose water and coconut oil used are the
secondary ingredients to make soap. With the quantity of all the ingredients, 250

grams of soap base, 10 ml of glycerin, coconut oil and rose water, 20 ml of aloe

vera extract and 30 ml of calabaza extract, 12 pieces of small square shaped

soap are made.

Costing

Table 3. Costing of the Ingredients

The cost of each product does not depend on the unit included at the

table. Only portion of each is mixed to the measuring in the research product

construction. The total cost spend is 365 which fits for the procedure of the

product to be affordable.

Steps and Procedure

Table 4 presents the process of making the soap.

CucurVera Soap Making Process

(a) Prepare all the materials and ingredients to use; (b) Separate the extract

of Aloe Vera from the leaves; (c) Cut the calabaza and soap base into pieces;

(d) After cutting the calabaza, put it in a blender or juicer to separate the

calabaza extract; (e) Pour an amount of 10 ml of glycerin, rose water and

coconut oil into the mixing pan; (f) Before pouring the calabaza extract into

the mixing pan, get a strainer to get rid of the bubbles; (g) Pour the aloe vera

extract into the mixing pan with the same procedure in calabaza extract; (h)

Put the cut soap base into llanera and put it in a boiling water and leave it

until it melts; (i) Mix the melted soap base into the mixed ingredients and stir it

well; (j) At last, put the melted soap into the silicone mold and leave it in order

to cool down and solidify. There were the steps that should be carefully

followed in making CucurVera Soap.

Presentation of Data

This displays the chronological order of presenting the data in a tabular

presentation, the acceptability of the CucurVera Soap that has a potential of

treating skin irritations, in terms of its (1) Effectiveness, (2) Appearance and (3)

Affordability.

Overall Weighted Mean of Acceptability Variable

Weighted Mean and Frequency of Data Collected

Figure 5. Chart of the Weighted Mean and Frequency of the Acceptability

Variable Data

The data collected ranging from 5 – 1 of three different variables: (1)

Effectiveness (2) Appearance and (3) Affordability with a total of 9 question, 3

each variable, are all separately computed with the formula of weighted mean

which is a sum of frequency divided by the number of respondents.

Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation of the Research Variable

Acceptability with Descriptive Analysis

Effectiveness
Table 6 Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation with Descriptive Analysis of

each Questions in Effectiveness variable

The variable effectiveness results to avera descriptive analysis each

question as it reach the range of 3 – 3.9 in the point score of 4. This only means

that the evaluation of the CucurVera Soap has a potential for treating irritation

which is the main objective of the research study. Question 1 gain a 3.2 weighted

mean and 0.48 standard deviation. Second question attain 3.27 weighted mean

and 0.73 for standard deviation. The 3 rd question get 3.13 weighted mean and

0.76 standard deviation. The weighted mean and standard deviation is then

summed up and divided into 3 which is the frequency of the question.

Appearance
Table 7 Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation with Descriptive Analysis of

each Questions in Appearance variable

In terms of appearance the total of the evaluation is satisfied proving the

soap is presentable, its smell, color and texture as they all range satisfied at the

descriptive rating. The total weighted mean of the variable appearance is 3.17

which lie between the ranges of 3 – 4 that is satisfied analysis and with the

standard deviation of 0.83. Question 1’s weighted mean and standard deviation

is 3.07 and 1.03, respectively. Question two obtains a weighted mean of 2.9 and

standard deviation of 0.65. Third question achieved a 3.53 weighted mean and

0.81 of standard deviation.

Affordability

Table 8 Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation with Descriptive Analysis of

each Questions in Affordability variable

As the last variables, affordability, it is satisfied enough whenever the

product is proved potential to aid irritations and not cause further damage on skin

in the evaluation. Considering each question variable have, rated as satisfied and

with the total weighted mean of 3.75, this only means that this variable pass the

expected range of the satisfied remarks. Question 1 get 3.73 weighted mean, 3.7

for question number 2 and 3.8 for the third one. In standard deviation, question

one earn 0.82, 0.86 is question 2 have got and 0.91 for question number three.

Percentage of Advantage and Benefit Variable

This computation only revolves around the yes and no answer of the

respondents at the questionnaire. Yes range above the half level of the 100%

percentage which indicates that the variable advantage and benefit pass the

qualification for the CucurVera Soap to be acceptable as a potential treatment for

skin irritation.
