I. Project Title: INSET


Theme: “Boosting Learning Skills Outside the Conventional
School System
Teacher & Parent Partnership, Building the Future of
the NOW in Education

II. Rationale:

With schools and universities closed indefinitely to contain the


spread of COVID-19, education globally is undergoing major
interruptions. The Novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
pandemic may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a new
disease and what could happen can be overwhelming and cause
strong emotions in adults and children.
Mental health is an important part of overall health and well-
being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It may also affect how we
handle stress, relate to others, and make choices during an
emergency. But we can rise above the chaos by knowing the facts
about the on-going pandemic.
As educators, we need to embrace the new normal in education
by learning about the effective teaching approaches. Success is
possible if we have the passion and compassion to our learners.

III. Objectives:

While it is pushing for continuity of learning amid the


pandemic, DepEd clarified that the safety and welfare of learners, as

well as its teaching and non-teaching personnel, are of utmost
importance. The basic objective of the in-service teacher education and
training are as follows:

1. Observance of distance learning would provide safety and security

against the global pandemic that would benefit students,


parents,

and teachers.

2. Learners would enjoy self-paced and student-centered learning

at the comfort of their home guided by parents and regulated by

teachers.

3. Exposure to new teaching-learning strategies and approaches, and

new digital instructional materials that are an opportunity to

timely cope up with the global advancements of


education.                    
4. Solidify teachers and parent partnership in educating learners.
5. Hone teaching skills through training courses and webinars
offered online for free.
6. Apply the learnings and collaborate with ideas with other teachers
that could be helpful and effective.
