    Rationale:

    Due to COVID-19 pandemic, learners have been away from schools and
    their teachers, but literacy learning has continued. Learning to read is about
    listening and understanding as well as working out what’s printed on the
    page. Through hearing stories, children are exposed to a wide range of
    words. This helps them build their own vocabulary and improve their
    understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read. Teaching
    young children to read helps them develop their language skills. It also helps
    them learn to listen. Everybody wants to talk, but few can really listen.
    Reading helps children focus on what someone else is communicating.

    In lieu with this, the Department of Education of Sarangani Division


    immediately act through this Division Memorandum No. 048, s. 2021:
    VIRTUAL TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON TEACHING READING AND READ-AT-
    HOME PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION to learning/reading dated February 18-
    19, 2021 via Google Meet.

    Methodology:

    School Reading Coordinators of Elementary and Junior High School of this


    school with the consent of the School Head sent letter of invitation for the
    scheduled launching of DEAR (Developing and Enhancing Abilities in
    Reading)
    in support with the Read at-Home Program of Department of Education of
    Sarangani Division. This activity will be spearheaded by the reading
    coordinators and to be attended by the teacher-facilitators and tutor
    volunteers.
    Objective:

    To provide snacks for the teacher-facilitators and tutor-volunteers


    during the school’s launching of DEAR (Developing and Enhancing Abilities in
    Reading) in support with the Read at-Home Program of DepEd Sarangani
    Division.

    Budgetary Requirement:

    Snacks for the teacher-facilitators and tutor-volunteers during the

    5 bags biscuit PhP 250.00
