Online Learning Challenges for Ed Students

The study focused on the experiences of education students taking online classes during the pandemic at a state university in the Philippines. Researchers interviewed students and identified common themes in their responses.   • Study Introduction

The study focused on stores and experiences of students in a state university who are

using the online learning modality. Respondents were students currently taking Bachelor of
Science in Elementary Education who are currently experiencing new normal type of education.
As a qualitative study, the researchers emphasized the use of identifying common themes as a
data analysis procedure and use of phenomology as their Research Design. The study concluded
that utilizing techonology and teacher-student gap is a common trend, poor internet connection,
unavailability of common tools in learning, hindrances in contacting your instruction or teacher,
communication during group activities, difficulty in comprehending lessons, economic issues,
time management, teacher’s behavior, independent and self-directed learning, convenience and
comfort, and lastly, convenience and comfort during class.
