Education plays a significant part on a person’s life. It is very necessary for all to go ahead in the life and get success. It develops confidence and helps building personality
of a person. For a student to continuously engage himself and enjoy learning, it is emphasized that education should be provide through a positive learning environment. This is a
kind of environment that could ensure students’ safety inside and outside the classroom.
With the new school year to come, the Department of Education (DepEd) along with different organizations and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors
geared up for the nationwide Brigada Eskwela 2019 starting from May 20 to May 25, 2019 with the theme, “Matatag na Bayan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan”.
Brigada Eskwela at first glance is the modern day bayanihan. Its concept was practically derived from the “sama-sama,” “tulong-tulong,” and “pagkakaisa” mentality of
the Filipino people, of course without anything financial in return of the deeds and services rendered therein. The program stresses the importance of creating a school facility and
environment that is built and maintained by the people, of the people, and for the people. It also magnifies the idea that proper taking care of, and maintenance of school facilities
and properties are not sole responsibility of the administrators and its personnel but also of its stakeholders – mainly the students and their parents.
During the first day of the event, the school conducted a short opening program to welcome the different stakeholders both from private and public sectors of Pangasinan.
There were parents and volunteers from the different barangays, LGUs, and NGOs. After the short program the Junior High School (JHS) teachers together with the different
volunteers proceed at the back of the JHS students’ building to clean the area. At the afternoon, the JHS department teachers conducted a short meeting to divide the group into
areas to assist the volunteers on accomplishing the cleaning program for the next day.
May 21, 2019, day two of Brigada Eskwela 2019. JHS teachers, students and 4Ps members helped on gathering the grasses lived behind by the grass cutter assisted by the
Grace Guardians-Aguilar Chapter (a private association for motorist along Aguilar) President, Mr. Charlie Donato. Students helped in cleaning of the garbage site along the side
the JHS building. JHS teachers together with the different volunteers started cleaning the areas in which “Gulayan sa Paaralan” was put up.
Wednesday came, teachers with their students and parents were asked to help in the harvesting of vermin worms and vermin cast assisted by Mrs. Maria Elsa Parubrub.
Vermi worms produced fertile cast which could be used by farmers as soil for their vegetable plants. Aside from that, Vermi worms are expensive and could be sold individually
for an additional profit for the TLE Department.
Fourth and fifth day of the week, May 23-May 24, 2019, here comes the donated cleaning materials and paints from our NGO partners, East West Bank and One Network
Inc.. These materials would be used as cleaning materials and painting materials along JHS Department grounds.
Finally, May 25, 2019, Saturday, last day of Brigada Eskwela 2019, a closing program were held at the Aguilar Integrated School (AIS) covered court in commemoration
for the success of the Brigada Eskwela 2019. The last day included the presentation of the different accomplishments of the Elementary Department (Brigada Eskwela Chairman-
Mrs. Cleofe S. Limos), Junior High School Department (Brigada Eskwela Chairman- Ms. Melisa Q. Viduya) and Senior High School Department (Brigada Eskwela Chairman-
Mr. Melfred G. Micu) during for the entire week of Brigada Eskwela. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the Brigada Eskwela 2019 volunteers and donors. Teachers
were also awarded with their certificates of completion for their undying support for the entire week’s event.
All of us were very delighted and thankful for the blessings the school had received from the different volunteers and cash donors of the Brigada Eskwela 2019. Truly,
Brigada Eskwela 2019 was accomplished because of the hand-hand support and courage of the stakeholders, teaching and teaching staff of Aguilar Integrated School.
