Accomplishment Report of Project SAD Free

The Project SAD Free aimed to educate grade 6 students on the dangers of smoking and drugs. Activities included a film showing on the risks of cigarette smoking followed by a group discussion. The school also participated in an anti-drug campaign by sending representatives to compete. The God is Able Baptist Church further discussed the importance of health and the harms of smoking during a seminar with interactive discussions. Photos showed the church seminar and the school's participation in a district-wide parade against drugs.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT OF PROJECT SAD FREE ( Smoke and Drug Free )

SY 2019-2020

I. INTRODUCTION
Cigarette smoking is the burning and breathing in of the leaves of tobacco and other substances
placed in the cigarette. The history of cigarette smoking is closely connected with the discovery of
America and transportation of tobacco to the European countries.
Tobacco smoking became popular already in the 17th century but the form of a cigarette became
well-known only in the 19th century. Today more than the third of the grown-up male population
smokes cigarettes and this habit will probably always be popular. The main reason of smoking is the
tobacco smoke which causes slight euphoria and influences human mind. The main substance of a
cigarette is nicotine which causes addiction which far stronger than alcohol and drug addiction. The key
effect of nicotine is the temporary reduction of the feeling of irritation, stress, disability to focus
attention on something, etc.
In line with this, We the School Pupil Government seek help with the other organization who has
enough information about this matter. SPG Officers contacted the God is Able Baptist Church to
undertake a seminar. They conducted film viewing showing the importance of one’s life and health and
the bad effect of cigarettes to one’s health.
The School and the SPG Officers also take an initiative to join a campaign activities about Drugs
that was held at Taysan, District, as part of the NDEP activities.
II. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
This Project was conducted by the Proponent, the School Pupil Government among the Grade
Six students
Film Showing
• a 20-30 minute film showing composed of advertisements, campaigns and television
commercials about the risks of cigarette smoking.
Group discussion
• an interactive discussion with the participants for them to share their views and analysis
about the films that they have seen;
• The school also join the campaign activities at Taysan, District in which we have our School
Representative who compete there as part of NDEP activities.

III. OUTPUTS OF IMPLEMENTATION

As the specific objectives of this project, its outcome will be beneficial among the students of
Grade Six students of Bilogo Elementary School.

importance of life and health. They discussed also the bad effect of
cigarette smoking and using drug. They have an interactive discussion
about the topic for them to share their views and insight.

Gutierrez, his councilors joining
the parade.
