IV.PROCEDURES
A. Introduction Meaningful Journey. Identify the meaning of the idioms. Use the
(1 day) sentences as your clue. Choose the meaning from the pool of meanings:

Learning Task 1: Observe the figures below. In your notebook, draw

Step 1. Instruct the learners to wait for the given signal; they are to
raise one picture at a time and find a partner who holds a picture
that he or she thinks is related with the picture he is holding. The
student will have to mention the name that he/she chose.
Step 2. Once students are in pairs, a second signal will be given.
Students in pairs will now look for another pair who they think is
related with them.
Examples:

cowardly: brave: foolish:wise (antonyms)

The teacher will give a short review on the types of analogies leading to
the objective.

Concept Presentation:
Using their analogy sentences, the teacher will connect and ask the
learners the relationships between ideas and words.
Allow learners to think critically and apply logical reasoning in giving their
answers.
The teacher will guide the learners in supplying words or expressions to
complete an analogy; writing an example of analogy and connecting
ideas, terms and concepts.
Emphasize that analogies have varied types such as synonym, antonym,
types, part and whole, characteristics, object/ action, and tool/worker.

(1 day) “PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT”
PICTURE PERFECT!
(Note: Teachers may use other pictures aside from Covid-19)
The teacher will post different pictures (mostly about Covid-19) in
the learners’ Group Chat using the Messenger App.
The teacher will ask the learners to study the pictures.
The learners will be asked to make pairs of pictures that they think
should go together. They will repost their chosen pictures in the
Group Chat.
The learners will write a simple sentence that relates the two
pictures. They can use the different types of analogy as guide.
The teacher will process the sentences made by the learners.
With this kind of situation, we have now, there are people who choose
to sacrifice themselves for the sake of others. These are our modern
heroes; the front liners. In this activity, entitled BOOK-LOGAN, let us
show our appreciation and love to them.
