INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project dubbed as “Project UPLiFT: Uplifting People’s Lives through Financial
Training” is to help the community, particularly the unemployed mothers through livelihood program. We’ve
chosen the beneficiaries of the mothers of the students in Saint John Child Care Center (SJCCC) located at
Malued District, Dagupan City, because we’ve seen the good opportunity to educate them about financial
literacy, such as micro-financing and micro-enterprise, while they are waiting for their children, so as for them to
have their own source of income. In line with this, we will be conducting first an interview to these mothers, to
know their passion and interest about this project, and to introduce the business training and guide them how to
do it.

NATURE OF THE PROJECT

One of those magic ingredients that completely transforms a dish is the shrimp paste that delivers a
richness and complexity.that's totally unique. The shrimp paste or bagoong-alamang isn't only a condiment but a
mouth-watering toppings on green mangoes for the Filipinos. But a shrimp paste or bagoong-alamang mixed with
tomatoes is a more authentic and delicious idea.
Shrimp which is the main ingredient of the shrimp paste is well-known for its delicious taste and the
treasure of vitamins and nutrients that it contains. You can fill out your daily mineral intake of iron, calcium,
sodium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, along with vitamin A, vitamin E, and B6, and even
vitamin B12 by consuming shrimp.
On the other hand, the health benefits of tomatoes can be attributed to their wealth of nutrients and
vitamins, including an impressive amount of vitamin A, C, and vitamin K, as well as significant amounts
of vitamin B6, folate, and thiamin. They are also a good source of potassium, manganese, magnesium,
phosphorous, and copper. They have dietary fiber and protein, as well as a number of organic compounds like
lycopene that contribute to their health benefits.
This project is aiming to teach the beneficiaries on how to produce bagoong-alamang with tomatoes.
These two ingredients are cheap but definitely healthy that's why the unemployed mothers of the St. John Child
Care can afford it. It can't affect their budget rather it will give them the chance and ability to earn income by
producing a delectable yet inexpensive product by combining the two. Of course with the help and guidance of
the NSTP trainees, they will have these skills and capabilities.
This particular project will not only enhance the capacity of the beneficiaries to earn income but it will
help us, the NSTP trainees to develop the leadership, patience and creativity in ourselves. This project will give
us the chance and privilege to open the doors of opportunity to our beneficiaries and inspire them as well.
We are looking forward to the success of this project. That with the unity and cooperation from the side of
NSTP trainees and the beneficiaries, this project will be fruitful and bring changes to our lives.
