1. What is the purpose of folk dance?


The purpose of Folk dance is to are a celebration of daily life, health, peace, war,
harvest times and other aspects of life.
2. As a Filipino, is it important to have a knowledge or background in folk dance?
Why?
Yes, its because being knowledgeable about our culture its giving important in
our belief, tradition and cultures as a Filipino. Also it is really important, this is our
way to tell other people on what are the things that they need to know about our
culture. It is also the way that other people could have respect, knowledge and
give importance to our traditions and norms. Let other culture tell what are the
story behind their dance.
3. What particular dance you like most according to the nature of folk dance? Why?
The most nature of folk dance I like the most is Tinikling because we performing
this when Im in High School as what I’ve remember this folk dance is inspired by
an endemic bird called “tikling.” The steps of this dance are an imitation of the
movements of a “tikling” bird that hops and escapes the traps set by hunters.
Moving with poise and grace, the dancers skip in-between two bamboo poles
that are held to pound rhythmically against each other.

4. If given a chance, would you like to be folk dancer and compete for a different
competition? Why?
Yes, because being a folk dancer it just an honor to bring and to share our
traditional dance for different competition to become the most inspiring and a
most influencial folk dance all over the world.
