    Jose Rizal: A national hero.” (What can I learn and imitate?)

    In the life of Dr. Jose Rizal, you can see how brave he is. He has this
    courage of fight for his rights and to overthrow the colonization of Spanish.
    He inspires people to stand up for their country by his words. He felt that
    everyone should have the freedom to be alive. Jose Rizal was the driving
    force behind the campaign to free his country, the Philippines, from
    Spanish rule. Rizal's noble qualities of wisdom, bravery, and persistence
    allowed him to sacrifice everything in order to save his nation. He was a
    smart man who wrote novels to share his opinions on the government and
    published a newspaper to keep the public educated. “He continued his
    doctoral studies in Paris and Heidelberg, and in 1886 published his novel
    Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not), which represented the misery that his
    fellow people had had to undergo during the years of Spanish dominance,”
    writes Jose of his time in France.
    Jose is explaining to the world how a nation can be ungrateful. Jose
    uses his book as a background to the fact that a nation faces strict rule and
    has minimal freedom, and serves the country of Spain and exposes it to as
    many people as possible. “He went on to become a leading voice for the
    Philippine reform movement, publishing articles for the Filipino propaganda
    newspaper La Solidaridad in Barcelona,” writes Jose Rizal while in
    Barcelona. He is demonstrating how he wanted the newspaper to be
    written. Jose's experience of what's going on in the Philippines is put to
    good use in his books, which depict the Philippines' troubles with Spain.
    He's commitment to write in the newspaper will convince some that
    Filipinos, like Spaniards, should be free and equal. Jose Rizal is a brilliant
    man who publishes his thoughts in books and newspapers to demonstrate
    his point of view.
    He wrote two books, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, to
    illustrate how Spain dominated the Philippines. He established the
    Philippine League in order to establish the country's first reform party to
    gain independence from Spain. He is known in Philippine history as the
    founder of the country's first reform group; his death heightened the
    people's determination to fight back in the fledgling democracy.
